MADISON, Wis. -- The families of missing children and adults were honored at an annual ceremony on Friday.The Missing Persons Ceremony is an opportunity to reflect on those who are still missing and recognize the ongoing work of law enforcement officials to bring them home. Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen spoke to the crowd at the state Capitol, stressing the importance of coming together to keep children safe."I have made it my specific cause as attorney general to do everything I possibly could to help law enforcement protect our children," Van Hollen said. "And just as importantly, help our citizenry protect our children, and help our children protect themselves and each other."There are currently more than 1,000 missing persons in Wisconsin, officials said.
