A disbarred Lafayette attorney who is accused of fleeing to Mexico to avoid prosecution in a child sexual assault case is back in the Boulder County Jail after a tip to the FBI allowed investigators to find him.

Duane Glenn Rogers, 45, was living comfortably in Puerto Vallarta, a Mexican resort community known for its beaches and tourism, according to the Boulder County District Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors believe Rogers had an ongoing sexual relationship with a girl from 2003 until 2008, beginning when the girl was 12. They say the relationship came to light when the girl attempted to end it and told her mother, who reported it to Lafayette police in 2008. Rogers was scheduled for a trial on four felony sexual assault on a child charges in September 2009, but he did not show up, prompting the district attorney's office to obtain a $1 million warrant for his arrest.

Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett said Monday that Rogers could face additional charges because he did not appear for his trial.
